"[...]I tried to mount it on my deck rail however the signal on my iPhone only would register 1 or 2 bars. I did a quick and dirty check with signal antenna mounted on deck rail, but it only yielded a bar of improvement. "The antenna picked up good reception but when we would call out (with 3-4 bars) the reception was not reliable. Either we would loose all bars or there was lots of static and voices would be garbled and you could not understand who you were talking to and they could not understand you.
