"Nice unit. The key reasons I bought this model is it's cordless and affordable. While it comes with rechargeable batteries and cigarette-lighter charger, I have yet to use these as I get excellent performance from normal AA batteries (takes three). Not all radar detectors are the same.

"Unlike another reviewer here I don't think radar detectors are all the same. It is true that instant on radar will catch you every time if you have no warning, but most times you aren't the only one that is being checked and by getting the information that radar is in the area you can be prepared.I have a Valentine One and am very pleased with it, but don't like having to move it from car to car.
