"I have never used an external HD for back up. My expectations were that you would plug this in and push a button and it would back up files. What a surprise when it wanted selections on Google, Yahoo and a bunch of other garbage that I hardly ever use. This is definately not for the novice user! "My laptop is power book, and it doen't support power enough to recognize wd passport (sony or other windows pc laptop recognize it). If you have 15" or 17" mac power book or laptop, you should buy the 22" USB 2.0 Power Booster Cable which doesn't include the package. "
