Prevent disaster with this Safe-Sync

"Canon DSLR cameras require six volts or less trigger voltage for external flashes. The Safe-Sync by Wein safely converts all my flashes to well below the safe limit. The trigger voltage on my 245 Metz flash measures 230 volts. The Safe-Sync reduces that to 5.2 volts. Perfectly safe. Don't assume your "older" flash is usable as is. Get the Safe-Sync and be sure...." Read Full Review »

Overpriced junk

"I bought this intending to use my trusty Vivitar 283 with my Pentax k100d. I especially wanted to be able to use the pc socket for off-camera use. The unit was absolute junk. The front panel containing the pc socket was TAPED (!!) on and pulled away when I tried to disconnect the pc cord. The flash only fired sporadically with the pc cord (I'm guessing loose wiring) even before the front pulled off. Tight and di..." Read Full Review »

"I needed powerful power packs for not much money and settled on the Norman P2000Ds. Research tells me that these older packs have a sync voltage of approximately 45 volts... way too much for my DSLR. I could go wireless, but that's alot of money. The inexpensive solution was the Wein Safe-Sync.

"I use this on a Nikon D90 (and even an older Nikon CoolPix 5000) to operate a set of four 25 year old Paul C. Buff White Lightning 5000's. The trigger voltage for this older set of monolights is 24 volts. This regulator adds a sync terminal to my cameras and keeps the trigger voltage down to less …"  Read Full Review »

"I like that it lets me use my older strobes, like the 283; it lets me use my old studio strobes without frying the circuitry of my camera, and there's a wonderful old ring flash I can use now.

Downside? It doesn't lock to the hotshoe. My 283 is heavy enough that there's some serious wobble goin …"  Read Full Review »
