"I am using these for a pair of large bookshelf speakers (8" woofer) that serve as the front channels for my 5.1 surround system. "Threaded carpet spikes are provided, they are designed as bolts that screw into the bottom plate that sits on the floor. "I just set mine up today. On their own they are pretty sturdy stands, but since I put larger speakers on them (JAMO c 803's) I decided to fill the 2 back poles on each of the stands with lead shot.
