This is a Pentax K-mount all-manual SLR built on a common chassis known for inexpensive reliability. Some upgrades are evident here from its predecessors including a self-timer a depth of field preview and the ability to shoot multiple exposures on a single frame. The venerable K-mount assures a plentitude of sharp reasonably priced used lenses available for the camera. As has always been the case with this body of many names and manufacturers the shutter is operable without battery power at all speeds. Comes with a 28-70mm zoom lens capable for many shooting situations.

"Purchased this camera body/lens combo two years ago for my older son taking a H.S. photography course. Affordable pricing! The lens is GREAT too, worth the addition $20 over the straight 50mm lens. Good Price, bad quality

"I am a photography teacher and I have 10 of these cameras that were purchased only a two years ago. The battery cover on five out of the ten cameras broke in half within the first month of use.
