No digital signal with Vista

"I have an HP Pavilion bought from Best Buy in December. It came with a Hauppauge HVR-1800 tuner which is supposed to receive digital (ATSC and QAM) signals. I know that Windows Media Center doesn't handle digital tuners, but the Hauppauge WinTV application from their web site should.
