They allow me to have direct connect local printing from a second PC that is used for data logging only and needs print capability infrequently. "The 1st one we received the ac male internal plug fell into the unit and we had to have it replaced. The 2nd one works but it works like a kbox where you have to choose the device from the buttons and does not allow sharing off of each port. SO we were disappointed for we wanted to allow the pcs to share the devices without pushing the buttons...." Read Full Review »

"This is a great concept, it works well but does have some inherent limitations. I cannot vouch for the actual 1.0 vs. 2.0 but it appears to be 2.0 except with certain kinds of input devices.
