"I wanted something inexpensive that was portable and would give me the ability to 'equalize' some audio while playing it back. This has a software equalizer that works just fine.
the only downside is that if you don't always use the same usb port you have to reinstall driver package and reboot(?).

"lost sound on my laptop. learned an external sound card would work, so found the TBeach usb plug-in, but of course needed speakers to project, so bought some for [$]. i'm no savvy tech geek, and was not willing to invest [$]for labour/new internal sound card for my 5yr old laptop. "
