* 1100 ANSI Lumens
* HD2+ DLP Chip
TI HD2+ DMD DLP chip offers a significantly cleaner image by filling in
the small indentations (Via's) in the mirrors resulting in an impressive
color corrected contrast ratio (2200:1) at 1100 ANSI Lumens.
* Faroudja Video Scaler
With Adaptive Luma/Chroma Enhancement and Scaler now includes 3:2 to 2:2
pulldown conversions for optimizing 60Hz video.
* Contrast Ratio
Contrast ratio is the proportion between the brightest and darkest
section of an image. The higher the contrast ratio, the clearer the
image and the better the picture (example; 1000:1 is better than 600:1)
A higher contrast ratio results in well-defined, more realistic images.
* 7-segment, 5-speed Color Wheel 9000 rpm
To reduce the "rainbow effect" in DLP projectors the TDP MT800 uses a 7
segment color wheel that includes a neutral density filter in the green
section for smoother, more natural images.
* DLP (Digital Light Processing) Projector
These projectors use a digital micro-mirror (DMD) device to create
images, which are then enlarged to fill a screen. The DMD chip has
upwards of 1.3 million tiny mirrors that are used to create pictures
much the way pixels are used with CRT based devices. Since this is a
reflective technology, DLP will typically have higher ANSI lumens and
Contrast Ratios. A Color Wheel is also used to help create a full
palette of colors.
* Independent Color Control
* Aspect Ratio 16:9 & 4:3
This term, usually referring to the shape of a given television set, is
the measurement of the width of the picture relative to the height.
Traditional televisions are 4 units wide by 3 units high, or 4:3 (read
as 4 by 3) in aspect ratio. Widescreen sets are traditionally 16 units
wide by 9 units high, or 16:9 (read as 16 by 9) in aspect ratio. Most
DVD player set-up menus can be configured for either of these types of
screen sizes, depending on the type of encoding on the DVD disc and your
personal preference.
* TheaterWide
Expands 4:3 image 133% horizontally to fill an entire 16:9 screen.
Especially useful for restoring "Anamorphically squeezed" video to its
widescreen proportion.
* Color Temperature Control
Most Toshiba televisions provide three user-selectable Color Temperature
settings affect the sets overall white balance. The "Warm" setting
reduces the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6500 degrees Kelvin
and delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit
room. "Medium" and "Cool" provide a progressively bluer image for the
best picture as room light levels are increased.

-- CONVENIENCE FEATURES --
* Front, Rear, and Ceiling mounting
* Digital Keystone Correction
Digital Keystone Correction adjusts for what is commonly called "the
Keystone Effect" - a trapezoidal skewing of a projected image. This is
seen when the bottom of an image appears smaller than the top of the
image. The Keystone Effect is found in all projectors when positioning
the projectors base at a lower/higher level than the center of the
screen. Digital Keystone correction sensors detect the upward/downward
projection angle in relation to the screen and correct for tilts up to
+/- 15 degrees.
* Illuminated Remote Control
* Manual Focus
* Zoom 1.4:1
Electronically magnifies section of the DVD picture as it appears on the
television. Great for focusing on special effects or reducing the black
letter mashing at the top and bottom of select titles when viewd on a
conventional (4:3) television.
