"I purchased this lens for the Nikon D300. Tokina has a solid history of WA zooms and the 11-16mm is the best one followed by 12-24mm f/4. If you need more range then the 12-24mm is a good option. If you need that extra stop no other WA zoom for the DX format is going to give it to you. For me, I would have paid this much for a 11mm or 12mm fast prime so the extra few mm is a bonus for me. "I've used this product for landscape and night photography. This lens wide open is a bit soft but when stopped down it is pretty sharp. My results conflict the previous reviews (@wide aperture).
