"I will try to make this review worth your while because I know what its like to be on the fence and frantically researching lenses and prices. I had been looking for a super wide angle for a great deal of time before I decided upon the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. "When I bought an f/2.8 "pro" lens, I expected it to be usable wide open. I was very disappointed to find my copy of this lens was unsuitable to achieve professional results when used wide open. At f/2.8 it was sharp enough at the center, but consistently too soft around the edges. The lens did much better when stopped down to f/5.6. Perhaps I just didn't receive a very good copy.
