"Buying a quality camera lens without also giving consideration to adding a basic UV filter is....well, in my mind unthinkable. "I bought this filter for use on a 70-300 lens for a Nikon D2X. I should have sprung for a higher quality filter to go on a high quality lens. I need the filter to help protect the lens, but not compromise focus clarity. This filter, while being contructed well, leaves something to be desired in overall optical quality.
