"Have this installed on a Core2 Quad q6600. It idles around 34-38 celsius and the hottest I've seen it is 47 while playing Crysis. The fan is silent. Install is easy - here's what I did. To install use a flat blade screwdriver rather than your fingers. Line up the pins, then use the screwdriver to push straight down on the pins till you hear the 'click'. I installed diagonally - one corner then the diagon..." Read Full Review »

"Unhappy with fan. Bought it with a TigerDirect barebones bundle and it didn't fit the case/motherboard/combo in the bundle. Used it elsewhere on a Pentium D 925 3.0ghz in a Thermaltake case and it can't keep the CPU from entering thermal shutdown. This fan is also very problematic to install. Those pesky clips just keep popping out. Ease of use gets a zero star out of five rating. The case it's in is a th..." Read Full Review »

    ★★★☆☆

"This fan is simply not worth it. Great fan and works well, but as MANY have said before, it has a TERRIBLE fastener system. Even if it works, you can never be sure if those cheesy little plastic clips will stay put, or randomly pop out on you. I fussed and fussed with those clips and while I was ins …"  Read Full Review »

Thermaltake Silent 775D Processor Heatsink and Cooling Fan Review

Avoid this one: LOUD above idle and mediocre performance

    ★☆☆☆☆
    1.0

"If you have this processor, you'll want to make sure your CPU fan is dynamically controlled, meaning your computer adjusts the fan speed based on how hot the processor is.

At idle (when the processor is doing very little work) this fan is actually very quiet. However, as soon as you start to do an …"  Read Full Review »
