"i've had this unit for somewhere around a year or more (the one pictured, not the newer darker-colored one that your store probably has now). never given me any problems, running it without the a/c adapter. uses a transparent shielded usb2.0 a to b cable, unlike the newer one which uses a mini usb cable. the hub actually powers an original 512mb cruzer micro of mine that wouldn't work without the a/c adapter in ..."
