With careful calibration...

"The Merlin actually works, even with the Sony HVR-V1U which is right at the top of the Merlin weight limit. Although it requires absolutely meticulous adjustment, the instructions (including DVD) are adequate. The included carrying case allows you to store and carry the Merlin, folded up, with the camera attached. An included mounting plate lets you move the camera from Merlin to pan/tilt head readily, but ..." Read Full Review »

Hard to start up and control

"I use this for CanonEos5Dmark2. Although, it should be in the work range of weight for this product, it takes a long time to get right, is much more difficult to use than I expected. As a matter of a fact, I cannot aim precisely where I want it to. It goes unexpected way. Maybe a lot of practice is required. I cannot really recommend this...." Read Full Review »

"I just got this Merlin a few days ago and I only really got it working right today, and yes what they say about it being a steep learning curve is right.
