"Haven't had the unfortunate luck of a surge yet to test the surge protection itself, but I do know that the energy-saving part of it works. when the main computer goes to energy saving mode, the auxiliary power (I have a monitor and printer plugged in)is switched off, and the 2 extra outlets (to which I have plugged in desklights) continue getting power. Nice, when it actually works

"Put this between UPS and new computer. I thought it would be nice that the printer, modem, monitor and router would get powered off when I shutdown the computer for the night. Sometimes it works like a charm. Other times I have to manually turn off the periphials. I always have to wait to see it I have to do the latter, which kinda defeates the purpose.
