The STR-DA2400ES ES 7.1 channel AV Receiver represents the first sub-$1000 model in the ES line up. Those that aspire to own an ES Receiver now have a solution. This entertainment hub will utilize a simplified icon driven menu system making operation easy for the most novice user. Similar to its predecessors, the STR-DA2400ES will feature the Faroudja DCDi Cinema(R) Technology that can upscale video sources to 1080p. Don`t let the small price tag distract you; this is a fully featured AV Receiver. The STR-DA2400ES 7.1 channel ES A/V Receiver will be able to reproduce the latest audio formats from Dolby(R) Labs (Dolby Digital +/Dolby TrueHD) and dts(R) (dts HD/dts High Resolution Audio). Connectivity is abundant. This new model features 4 HDMI inputs compatible with 1080 60p/24p2, Deep Color and x.v.Color video signals. In addition, RS-232C is included for use with various control systems. Finally, the STR-DA2400ES will feature BRAVIA Sync(TM) for Theater with One Touch control, Digital MEDIA Port input5 for use with MP3 portable players or personal computer (accessories sold separately) and compatible with XM(R) and Sirius Satellite Radio(R) making this unit completely SAT Ready.

Great Sound, Great Performance

"This receiver so much exceeded my expectations, I had a Sony surround receiver that was about 8 years old and it did not support DTS decoding and I picked this unit as it had the most audio decoders for the price. "I am very unimpressed with this receiver, as it did not function coming out of the box (no sound). In addition the user manual is very poorly written and [...] Sony's support absolutely blow.
