The Sony PCM-D1 is a unique lightweight professional portable field recorder using an internal 4GB of flash memory or the Memory Stick Pro as solid-state mechanism-free storage solutions. The unit supports selectable recording resolutions of up to 24-bit/96kHz and features a pair of sensitive built-in electret microphones in a stereo X/Y configuration. The PCM-D1 supports the WAV file format ensuring universal compatibility with editing software and simplified cross-platform data transfer to either PC or MAC via the USB port 2.0 port. This recorder should suit the requirements of location sound and music recordists or journalists.
