"This is a marine head unit, but I have installed it outside on my deck using a waterproof housing and a DC converter. It works great, sounds great, and is easy to use. The wireless remote control is also a very nice feature. There are many different ways to alter the sound using preset or custom equalizer settings. Shouldn't be advertised as marine

"This product is junk! I have exchanged it through Sony warranty 3 times before finally getting a refund. Problems were with the tuner on one, the XM interface on the 2nd and the CD player quit on the 3rd. This is an auto unit with a thin layer of plastic on the top to make it "marine". "I haven't played enough with this unit to get a really good feel for it but what I have seen in a weekend of use I really like. The tuner picks up a lot more stations than my old JVC, it sounds great and is easy-to-use. "

So far Very good!

"I bought this as a replacement unit for the stock unit in my correctcraft. The sound quality is very good and the direct hookup for an ipod is a great feature. Sony makes a good product and I am hopeful that overtime it will prove to be weather resistant. So far, so good! "
