"Sony always makes a good product and I expect this to last a good while. One caveat for the technologically challenge, these are not the VCR’s of old. It used to be you can connect your VCR or DVD to the television with a 75 Ohm coaxial cable, but not any more. If you are not planning on using this for a TV with a cable or satellite box, then get yourself a Connectall 200 Modulator by Monster Home Theater. The..." Read Full Review »

"We ordered this unit after our old VCR gave out. Nowhere on the order page did it indicate that this unit DOES NOT HAVE A TUNER. In fact, it even touts 'record a show while watching a DVD' giving the impression that it does in fact have a tuner. This unit requires a cable or satellite box or external tuner in order to work. If you are on standard cable (like we are) without a box, this unit will not function for..." Read Full Review »

"I know I may be living in the past, but I still have a lot of VHS tapes, and being that I don't plan on ever getting rid of them, this player is a godsend. Sure it will never look like HD, but that is not why I got it. With this player, i'm able to relive all my old memories on tape. DVD playback …" Read Full Review »

"My husband wanted a VHS player because we have hundreds of old tapes. We'd--or rather I'd--shopped for years for one to replaced the JVC that died of old age. (He always sticks me with the research.) I balked at the prices. DVD players are cheap and what does he want with all those old football …" Read Full Review »

"I've found DVDs and single DVD players to be too fragile to use in a Family room...
The young ones do better with VHS videos. This is a good and inexpensive machine and does the job!

"We attached this to our new Sony Bravia KDL-26S3000 in order to watch our 1000+ VHS movies and newer DVDs. It does a fine job and is easy to navigate between the two inputs. The remote control could be a little better: the buttons are too small and in a dimly lit room it is difficult to find the cor …" Read Full Review »
