"Buying TVs in a big store is hard - huge sets like a 50" get dwarfed by their surroundings and larger sets, and the lighting is less than ideal for critically judging the picture quality. But let me tell you - this set is the best of its class, easily beating DLP and LCD rear-proj. technologies, and also besting plasma and LCD flat panels for picture quality. "When the TV, is working it has a Great picture quality. We bought the TV in Sept . 06 and in Jan 07 it went down on High Temp. after 1 minute of operation that day. "The picture is unbelievable! Set warms up quickly and picture is BRIGHT even during daylight hours.Set-up and remote are easy for a klutz like me. I couldn't be happier. I'll up-date this review after a year or two to opine on the durability. This is a great TV. "
