"We use these to record TV programs when there are too many we want to see at the same time. I also record programs for my mother, who wants NOTHING to do with computers and isn't sure about programming a DVD recorder. "I bought this product a few months ago at Best Buy, and even though the discs worked perfectly, they have to be finalized before you could play them in anything else. And if you need to erase them you have to erase them in the computer and not the DVD recorder. These become coaster toasters after 3-4 recordings and erasings.
