Small, sleek, simple, stable

"I bought 3 of these a little over a year ago and have had no problems. The dark colored ones do show smudges and scratches but the silver one that I use most of the time looks great. The first thing I would suggest if you are going to be carrying it around, even in a "padded" laptop bag, would be to get a case for it to protect the harddrive. SimpleTech Portable 250GB HD

"This hard drive needs a ac power supply when conected to my Toshiba Qosmio G55-Q804 laptop computer. The computer never see's the hard drive if you do not add a powered USB hub first before you hook up the hard drive. If you hook up the drive after the computer starts up than it works find, but that is not what I expected when I brought this drive so I took it back to the store for a refund after 9-days of use. ..." "I suppose it works fine, but I had to plug both ends into a USB port on my computer. Unfortunately, since the laptop's USBs are far away from each other, I had to purchase an extension cable, which turned this from a sleek machine into a USB-hogging bulky proposition... "
