"This lens is incredibly sharp at 1.4. I wish I had bought this lens first, but perhaps it's better that way. I may have never bought any more lenses. "Every photographer would like to have some fast glass in the bag. Normal 50mm lens is the cheapest way to start. With Nikon 50 G version was not in stock at the time, I bought Sigma lens. It balances well on my Nikon D700 and my Nikon D40X. Construction is strong and focus is fast. However it is not accurate! "great lens, worth the price. feels pro and is heavy but so what the pix are what matter. The bokeh is really good, also I thought I needed to up grade my d60 to a d90 or d700 untill I started using this lens. This lens definitely improved my photo quilty output. my two cents thx. "

"This lens is fantastic! I knew the new Nikon 50 f/1.4 AF-S was coming out, but was really unhappy with the performance of the current 50 f/1.4, so as soon as this became available, I bought it.
