Sharp's LC-19D45U is a widescreen HDTV LCD TV that provides a slim design, high-definition TV solution with a distinctive small foot print. It features a high-performance LCD panel for high brightness, a high contrast ratio, low-reflection glare protection and wide viewing angles. The LC-19D45U includes ATSC/NTSC tuners to receive off-air broadcasts as well as digital cable QAM capability to receive non-scrambled digital cable programming.*1 In addition, the LC-19D45U is PC compatible and is an HDTV monitor for greater versatility. As an HDTV monitor, it is compatible with all 1080i and 720p signals from HDTV sources. The LC-19D45U also has a unique remote with a built-in clock/timer and a rear magnet for attachment to metal surfaces.

16 x 9: Aspect Ratio (1366 x 768) ASV LCD Panel displays 16:9 wide screen programs in their native aspect ratio.

Built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC Tuners for DTV and analog TV viewing.

OPC - Optical Picture Control The sensor automatically adjusts picture to room brightness.

Built-in Magnet on Remote For placement on a metal surface, the backside of the remote has a magnet allowing a user to place the remote on a refrigerator or other metal surface so it is always in reach for use.

Large Clock Display The easy to view display allows a convenient way to check the current time at a glance.

Timer Function A convenient accurate timer displays hours,minutes and seconds. Ideal for use in the kitchen or any room, the alarm function reminds you when your favorite TV program starts.

Light up Remote The remote's display is backlit so it is easy to view in dim lighting conditions such as a bedroom.

Long-Range Remote Operation This remote has three IR transmitter outputs allowing off axis remote signal transmission. Now you can control the TV from many locations without having to pick up and reposition the remote.

"At about 45 degrees off, on either side, the display contrast drops off. Not a lot but it is easy to notice. Otherwise, this HDTV works very well. It's full HD (720p), not upconverted to fit a 19" computer monitor screen, so the image is nicer. Sharp Aquos 19

"Regardless of the channel tuned to, the picture came on very dark. The picture would lighten up somewhat after five minutes or more. When I attempted to improve the picture using the menu features, the result was a hazy picture with untrue color. I returned the set to ABT. They asked me to try a similar Sharp.
