"I bought these for my husband to watch TV in our living room amidst all the hustle and bustle and noise of family life. HE LOVES THEM! Great quality and no background static anywhere in the house. "I bought these to watch movies late at night without waking others in the house. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of static. The wireless aspect of these phones works by transmitting over FM frequencies. I suspect this is why I can't get rid of the static- the three transmission frequency options (which aren't identified beyond "A" "B" and "C") must be high-traffic frequencies in my area. "I bought these to use with my TV so I could listen while the wife was asleep. They sound fine. I hear no static even when walking 30 ft away. They are not rechargable which is what I wanted. This means they dont have to placed on a charger and that I can just have them on my nightstand. "
