"I have owned the 250GB version of this drive for a while, and I have been very impressed with both. They are quick (as far as 5400 RPM + USB-interface drives go) and the metal casing speaks very well about Seagate's commitment to durable products. Died after 10 hours of use

"[...]I bought this drive to store additional data from my computer. I moved about 300GB over before it died. It lasted for about 10 hours of use.I was planning to backup this drive the next day "just in case". Too late. All 300 GB gone! Seagate will replace the drive but not the data - unless I want to pay them BIG money for data recovery.I should have known better to make two backups before removing the data fr..."
