"this is a great light diffuser for walking around with your 580 right on top of your camera, especially at night. it allows you to be close up to your subject(s) while creating more even light, without blowing them out. it doesn't fit perfectly, so i stick a rubber band on the flash first so it doesn't slip off. it would be nice if you didn't have to do that, but it certainly doesn't detract from the effect...." "This difuser works the way it is supposed to work when it is on the flash. It however, does not stay on my Cannon EX580 flash. When you push it over the flash it backs away from the fully seated position (like there is air preasure built up inside). "This diffuser only has to fill one criteria, to fit the flash. However, for the SpeedLite 580EX II that I bought it for, it does not fit very well.
First time I put it on, some material of the diffuser was scraped off onto the flash. Now that I've put it on more than 10 times; it just barely fits

"It's simple, does a decent job for most diffusing. Best for outdoors when you need just a little fill light. Does not allow bouncing since it is the same all around it, so you may want to just point it directly at the subject. It definitely has it's use. A little tough to get on, but doable. "
