"I was instantly able to transfer my home VHS tapes to DVD with no problem. It is very easy to use and works very well. Be advised that this unit does NOT have a built in tuner, so you can't record directly off TV/Cable. (It WILL work if you connect a cable box to it.) "

"We barely had it out of the box when we realized that it has no tuner. Since we don't have a cable box with our service, this makes it insufficient for our needs. Unless you have a cable box or other such device that translates the signal, find another product. "
