"I should have read some of the reviews more carefully. This won't power an external hard drive and doesn't support IPhone charging either. About the only thing I have gotten to work is thumb drives and my keyboard. I bought this thinking I could leave my external hard drive plugged in all the time but it won't even work with a dual port USB cable. Don't waste your money. I suggest the D-Link DUB-H7 instead. "I purchase the hub in june. It worked fine for about month then my computer began to not identify the hub. I tried it on another computer and it worked for about 1 hr. before that computer couldn't identify the hub. Now I'm stuck with it. So sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. "

"I was extremely disappointed when I used it. Only works with low power items such as iPods. It would not work even with my IPHONE. Doesn't recognise any external hard drives, even when plugged in with the power supply. Great idea. Lousy product. "
