Not effective as a cd player alone

"I wanted this item to listen to recorded books. This requires the ability to return to the same place on the cd after long pauses, such as overnight or longer. This item won't do that. It goes back to the begining of the cd after just a few minutes.

"I use CD's to put me to sleep. WIthin a year of purchase, the unit does not recognize most cds. It takes time to try to force it to look. Terrible when I am trying to get to sleep; the frustration does not help the sleep process. "
