Direct replacement for the LM/NE555 chip

"Very good multipurpose chip. Texas Instruments makes a great 555 timer IC. Motorola's MC1455 is the ONLY better chip on the open-market. I will keep on getting these in the future.

"can be used as a replacement for the LM555 as they are pin compatible, This has lower power requirements then other 555 timers. This IC is made by TI. Used it in a astable circuit, and is on the dot accurate. Used 5% tolerance resistors and a Tantalum capacitor (272-1434) for the timing circuit. "
