If YOU HOOK THIS PRODUCT UP RIGHT and REMEMBER TO USE THE SWITCH (from record to play and visa versa) the product WILL WORK AS DESIGNED... which of course it was and is designed to RECORD BOTH SIDES OF A CONVERSATION!!! Works but 60 Hz hum issues

"Works best with inexpensive tape recorders with microphone inputs. Has a sensitivity to 60 Hz (Powerline) pickup. Has problems with using PC microphone inputs, output is usually too low (Tried several computers). Can amplify with 277-1008 but must adjust to optimize without dramatically increasing 60 Hz hum.
