"I mounted my DirecTV dish on the chimney around 1997 using one of these, and it is still in place and holding a (now much larger) dish in place during high wind storms. Easy to set up. "The best thing you can say about this mount is it is in stock and availabe at Radio Shack. I called all over town looking for an alternative but no one stocks antenna mounts locally, so this was my only choice. The first one I bought had to be returned because it was defective. "I set it up by myself in under one hour. Two people would make it a little easier but it really was OK. It would be nice if RS included a small bar to crank it with instead of saying "all you need is a screw driver". It's a little misleading. "

"This product seems like a good idea. And it might be. But, the design and manufacturing of it failed miserably!

The ratchet mechanism is loose and will allow the sprocket to jump over the lock.

The metal it is made of is cheap and will bend while tightening.
