"This was my first-ever CB antenna. It's center-loaded, which means the coil is in the middle at the antenna instead of the base. Inch-for-inch, center loaded antennas typically outperform base loaded antennas. I found this antenna a very good compromise between signal strength and antenna height. "Set screw stripped when making initial adjustments. I never had consistent performance from it. I found that I had to take it apart several times to clean the corrosion from the contacts in the center load coil. "i bought this ant for ease of use seeing my F-150 could'nt hold a trucker,and it was the only mag mt they had in the shack store i went to. The antenna rusted within 2 weeks,and was bent over in less than 1 week. But it makes a great flag holder on the roof. "
