"This radio provides basic SAME capable weather alert radio functions. I was surprised to see some capability to program of which types of alerts you want to receive. This REALLY got me EXCITED because my home weather radio has mostly been off since Amber Alerts started to go out over NOAA radio (i.e. Child Abduction Advisories). "I have an older version of this model and it works quite good. Reception is spotty, especially in Wooded and Low-Lying Areas, but that is usual. I can get at least One NWR Channel most of the time. "
