"We have an almost 4 year old Toshiba TiVo/DVD (SD-H400) and the original remote is failing. The buttons that we use the most are becoming harder and harder to activate. We couldn't even buy a replacement from Toshiba and were considering buying a whole new DVR ($300+). Instead we found this remote [...]. "Thought I got a good deal on this thing. Took it out of the package and went to program it and the instructions talk about a LED that blinks when you program it. Well there isn't any LED on this remote. I even went into a dark room and changed the batteries thinking maybe it was an LED under the buttons. I even tried to guess program it. "Great inexpensive remote for controlling PVRs like Tivo and similar units. Has PVR/Tivo specific buttons. I have two, one would not work until I adjusted battery contacts. (manufacturing quality questionable???) Works great for controlling odd old devices like Toshiba Tivo/DVD recorder units. [...] "

"I bought this unit because I lost my original remote during my move. This remote is difficult to program, easy to screw up and has a limited (about 5 foot) range. Looks like I will have to buy another remote that is made better. I am totally frustrated with this purchase. "

"I was looking for a remote that also controlled my PVR (Tivo). After programming the PVR codes (all of them) several of the PVR control buttons don't do anything near what they are supposed to! "
