"Bought the product because the word "expandable" thinking that later I could buy an extra cordless unit for an additional bedroom. Found out later that Radio Shack does not sale the cordless unit alone. If I have known that I would not have bought the unit. "These phones have terrible range. The whole point of having expandable phones is so that you can have them in multiple rooms. These phones do not allow you to be very far away from the main base unit. If I am upstairs (in a small house) or my husband is out in the garage, we have to go back near the kitchen just to be able to talk.
