"I have both this and the SEC 1223 12v switching power supply. I have had them both for about 4 years now.[...]Since I have two similar units, I have to say I like the fact that the RS unit has binding posts with banana jacks whereas the SEC 1223 has crummy screw terminals for output.The RS supply is indeed capable of sourcing a full 25 amps, but the voltage drops considerably (11.9 volts) when so loaded. "Connected this PS to my Yaesu FT-900 and immediately noticed that the noise floor was about an S-7 on 40m with no antenna connected. Even more annoying is the PSK31 'type' of howling noises being generated by the PS across the entire HF spectrum. When I connect the FT-900 to an analog PS (a Kenwood PS30), the noise level dropped to an S2 on the same 40m frequency and the PSK31 type of QRN completely disappeared...." Read Full Review »

"I have three of these things. I use two to power a Kenwood TS-480HX amateur radio, no problems and the the third to power my Yeasu FT-897 (also to charge the onboard 897 batteries). No noise, seemingly bulletproof. Great value to me. "
