"I use the whip on top of a Hi-Q motorized antenna, for 1.6-30 MHz. Normally with these motorized antennas, people use some sort of capacity hat or egg beater contraption to shorten the whip part of the antenna to four or six feet. "you can't fine tune it, it is set to one frequence and that is it, you have to cut the tip off to tune it for any other bands. it is for CB only. "I am on my 4th one, getting ready to buy my 5th. Mounted behind the cab on my 4x4 pickup, the SWR on CB comes right in at 1.0 to 1.15 accross the band. Never had an SWR problem with these whips.
