"The PNY memory configurator said that this RAM would be compatible with my Compaq Presario 2585US laptop. But, when I installed the 2 sticks (either singly or in pairs) the system wouldn't recognize it, and thus couldn't even get to the boot screen. "I purchased 2 of these for my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop (which came with 256MB installed), now I have 1GB (the maximum) and it's faster now! For those with the same laptop, update your BIOS before installing and it will work. Great price too. "
