"I bought this model after trying the Helios Neodigit H4000 which claimed to do 1080p upscaling also. It did not because it had a hard time with certain models and using HDMI. "Best DVD I could find at the price. It really does do much more than any other competing unit at the <1$100 level. I'll bet that it has the same chips in it that the high priced ones do, but sells in such volume that they are able to keep the price down. "
