"The Pioneer DVL-919 has solid video performance. It has 90% of the video performance of the HLD-X9 at only a fraction of the cost. "Although laserdisc technology is outdated and the unit displays that antique quality, I have a few discs I continue to want to play. And this player is perfect and probably state of the art, as silent film became state of the art just before sound films were introduced. "
