"I upgraded my Yamaha RX-V1500 to this receiver, and it sprung new life into my speakers. I have a 7.1 setup at home and that MDACC was a breeze to calibrate the whole setup. It even protected itself from shorting out because I had some loose wires in the back of my rack that caused it to turn off automatically. "Single HDMI output - can't connect 2 TVs or TV & Projector. Will not support remote TV on HDMI for RGB sources. Receiver will upconvert RGB to HDMI, but requires separate coaxial, optical or RCA phono outputs for sound. Can choose Rear Surround Sound or Remote Speakers but not both. No A/B speaker switch. "I use the AVR to switch my 4 inputs (DirecTV, bluray, HDDVD, Wii) to my ceiling mounted projector as well as power my 5.1 speaker setup. I needed an AVR with HDMI & component switching, plus I wanted to upgrade to the HD codecs.
