"I have had many ATSC DVD recorders including LG 787T, Samsung DV650, Magnavox, and the Philips 3505 and 3506. The Magnavox was bad on arrival, one of 2 LG787T went bad shortly after arrival, the samsung went bad after about a year. The easiest and most effective of the lot were the Philips 3505 and 3506 which are easy to program and due a good job of recording as I record 6 hours of Digital and Analog from cable..." "I was really wanting a DVR that would record 1080i "over the air" broadcasts, but nothing is readily available yet, so I bought this to get me through. My old VHS broke down, didn't want anymore of that. All the features and programming are easy; the video quality is NTSC poor, since you are at 480P.
