"I think the other reviewers are a little too picky. For the price this phone system is tops. Our old phones were finally dying after about 4 years. Needed to get something fast to replace. Went to the local RadioShack here in NYC. They had this one in stock. Brought it home and had them up and running in about 5 minutes. They use rechargable batteries which is the newest thing. Looks sleek, but poor sound quality.

"This is a good looking phone. But the sound quality is not good. I called Phillips to see what i could do. They said change it out with another from the store. I did this and the same problem. sound was like it was digitally affected, coming from a tin box and even on high volume (which was still low) I had difficulty understanding people...." "We needed a phone with remote access to use with a web phone number. You could rarely pick up the phones and answer it the first time, caller cannot hear you speaking. We plugged in our old phones and had not problems with any of these issues. "
