Owner's manual states a 20 hour max battery life (which is typical) - when you turn the ESP off. "I bought this for use on my treadmill so I can listen to books on tape. The sound is horrible. It does not get very loud and the connection from the earphones to the cd player is not good so you get static, or it cuts on and off. "
