"This PV-GS90 is as expected, as far as Mini-DV camcorders go. This is my third one, after two previous JVC's gave out on me, and it seems to do the job. The optical stabilizer (vs. digital) does seem to help when refocusing on zooming. One nice feature is the ability to fade the video upon starting and ending a recording session.
