Apparently cheapest of new models recently launched by Panasonic as well as other brands, VDR-D100 is a sine qua non model in a number of ways. The 1.6-inch chip single CCD with 640K pixels (340K effective) makes it a worth satisfying product for the price paid. The shutter speed of between 1/60 and 1/3000 of a second wouldnt fail in taking every precious sporadically moment. No true 16:9 video mode is available nevertheless the cinema mode can crop the video for the analogous effect. The breathtaking, 30x zoom lens can go up to 1000x in digital mode for exaggerated magnification (although the image quality will suffer considerably).The LCD screen is a 2.5-inch model with 105K pixels for better viewing images, and theres an S-Video output enabling you to connect it to a display device like your TV to watch the stored moments.
